Jan. 10, 2008

Dear Friends,

Senate President Therese Murray appointed a Senator-Elect James Marzilli (D-Arlington) the new co-chair of the Joint Committee on Tourism, Arts and Cultural Development. He joins the House chairman, Rep. Eric Turkington, (D-Falmouth), replacing Senator Brian Joyce (D-Milton) who was named chairman of the Committee on Community Development and Small Business.

MAASH welcomes Senator-Elect Marzilli who has been a long time friend of the arts, sciences and humanities. He understands that challenges faced by non-profit cultural organizations, and he currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the New England Wildflower Society. He has a distinguished record of public service in Arlington and has served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives since 1991. He was elected in a special election this past fall.

We look forward to continuing our work with Senator-Elect Marzilli and Chairman Turkington.

Sincerely,
Dan Hunter
