Congresswoman Tsongas Joins Arts Caucus

Jan. 15, 2008

Dear Friends,

We are pleased to join Congresswoman Niki Tsongas (D-Mass. 5th District) in announcing that she has become the newest member of the Congressional Arts Caucus last week. Congresswoman Tsongas has been a steadfast and effective champion for the arts, sciences and humanities. She has worked to support many cultural organizations in the Fifth Congressional District and across the state.

She will add her powerful voice to the 193 member Arts Caucus: "As a member of New England's Creative Economy Initiative steering committee, as well as a long time Merrimack Repertory Theatre board member, I have seen in our region and across the Commonwealth how strategic investment in arts and culture can revitalize communities and promote sustainable development," said Congresswoman Tsongas. "I look forward to working with my Congressional Arts Caucus colleagues and with local arts, sciences, and humanities groups like MAASH, to promote cultural enrichment in our communities and grow our creative economy." MAASH is proud to support Congresswoman Tsongas and the rest of the Massachusetts delegation who support arts and culture so diligently.
